Any notable omissions or interesting inclusions for you?

For me...I'm slightly baffled by the inclusion of Peter Di Salvo in net. He's been pretty rocky for Barrie this year and is nowhere near the caliber of goaltender that guys like Beskorowany, O'Hagan, Anderson, and a handful of other guys.

Outside of that, I think they did a good job and I think cases can be made for the inclusion of all the others, even if I may have tinkered a bit.

Am I the only one that is shocked that Josh Brittain is on this roster?

Would I take him for the game? Absolutely not.

Am I surprised that he's on the roster? No.

Let's not forget that this roster is heavily influenced by what Hockey Canada wants to see. It's not necessarily an all star game of the league's best players. It's a two game showcase for World Junior eligible players. And it's obvious from looking at the rosters that they wanted to include a mix of players who can play different roles. Thus the inclusion of a guy like Zac Rinaldo too. My guess is they want to look at Brittain for the scoring and physicality that he can potentially bring.

But I agree completely Jim, that if I were selecting these rosters, Brittain wouldn't be on it. I'd much rather a guy like Alex Hutchings, Ryan Spooner, or Casey Cizikas up front.

Astonished that Brittain would be included. Traded from Barrie for reasons I think beyond just no room for him there. He is one of the guys Team Canada is looking at, which again I cannot explain. Just what does Hockey Canada value in players? You have to wonder! DiSalvo? Head scratcher on that one. Game is in Barrie?
